Great shot there is a cliff in Ireland along beachside that's similar - just excellent stuff...

Location
On the bluffs between Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara Beach, near Vik Iceland.Time
During the blue hour, roughly an hour after sunrise. This image is pointed north, and the clouds to the west, south, and east were heavy but fortunately the sun was peaking through and we got reflections off the clouds to the north.Lighting
I particularly like he smooth receding waves cast on the black sand beaches of Vik, and the contrast with the colorful sky.Equipment
This image was taken on a carbon fiber tripod with a Canon 5D Mark 4, with a 24 - 70mm f2.8 len. Set at 24mm, f18, ISO 100, at 1.6 seconds. I believe I was using a 2 stop graduated NISI filter.Inspiration
Everything about Iceland was dramatic and majestic, and a huge contrast from my home territory in San Diego. This image captures all of my impressions of the "land of the Vikings". Dramatic beauty, with never ending seascapes, awesome terrain, and stunning mountains.Editing
Typical Light Room enhancements, with some dehazing of the sky to add drama to the clouds, and some post crop vignetting to focus on the stark contrast between the waves and the black beach. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark 4, Canon 24 - 70 mm lens, Canon 70 -200 mm lens, 1.4 extension, wireless remote, lens bracket, loupe, spare batteries, head lamps. spare micro disks, NISI filters, misc. lens cleaning stuff,Feedback
Hard to figure when the lighting will be optimal so I find it best to take a few shots spaced out to capture the change in lighting. Also, be mindful of your histogram to ensure you are capturing the best exposure to allow more room to adjust in Light Room.
