Location

This photo was taken at Convict Lake in the Eastern Sierras in California.

Time

This is a favorite photo of mine. We were on our way to Yosemite National Park, and we decided to stop off at Convict Lake having never been there before. There were only three other couples there doing just what we were doing, wandering around enjoying the incredible view. It was wonderfully quiet and tranquil and just begged for a photograph.

Lighting

The light was amazing. It was the middle of the day, it was overcast and the colors all around us was amazing.

Equipment

For the last couple of years, I have just been armed with my iPhone, so this is a photo taken with my phone which I always have with me.

Inspiration

The incredible view, the incredible colors of the mountains beyond the lake, the peace and serenity of the location.

Editing

A bit of saturation to bring out the colors of that wonderful mountain beyond the lake; a bit of sharpening. The scene was almost perfect just as it was.
