The falls of Braan are an impressive sight to behold, found near Dunkeld in Perthshire Scotland, they are part of a series of falls found in this beautiful part of Perthshire, they flow under an old bridge called the "Rumbling Bridge", when you stand on it with the waters in full flow, you understand why!

Location
These falls are not far from where I live, they are located in a lovely Scot's Pine forest in an area locally called "The Hermitage" which is near Dunkeld in Scotland, there is a small building overlooks the lower falls from which you can view them safely. Further upstream there are these falls just before passing under an old stone bridge. To get the best unobstructed view I had to jump a fence and sit somewhat precariously on a ledge before the falls, the noise of the falls is quite deafening when it is in full flow as seen here, and gives the bridge the name "Rumbling Bridge".Time
This was taken fairly early in the day, well before noon and the sun was too high, I would be shooting in the general direction of sunrise so didn't want the seen to be too blown out.Lighting
Taken entirely in natural light with the aid an ND filter.Equipment
Camera is a Nikon D7100, manfroto tridop and Nikkor 18-300 lens at 21mm / f7 48s on manual setting.Inspiration
I love photographing water, either at normal speed or slowed down as in this image, the force of nature is sometimes breathtaking and unrivalled, I wanted to capture the sense of motion and power in the water, power that can cut through rocks and literally move mountains over time.Editing
I did some cropping and straightening then converted to mono using Silver efex pro software. In my camera bag
I only have one camera, Nikon D7100 but in terms of lenses I usually for landscape use my 18-30 or 20mm Sigma lens, as well as a carbon fibre Manfroto tripod. A selection of ND filters and polarising filters is also part of my gear.Feedback
Try not to take the usual image, look for something different or another angle that may take a bit more work and patience, but at all costs be safe and don't put yourself into a position of danger!
