Wild Mustang Grazing the in the Afternoon Sun, high up in the Chuska Mountains, in Northwestern New Mexico. The Chuska Mountains are part of the Navajo Indian Reservation. There are Fifty Thousand Wild and Feral horses on Navajo Nation Land. Many of the horses are horses that have been turned loose by the elder natives when they are unable to continue their lifestyle in the mountains and are forced to move in to the cities or pass away. Leaving herds of horses that live in the wild, however they will approach people without fear.
