Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the northwest Icelandic country side. These horses were so friendly. As we pulled over the car on the side of the road to photograph them, they trotted over to greet us, and seemed to enjoy the attention.

Time

This particular horse caught my eye with his ice blue eyes. and white fur that looked like he was wearing a turtle neck sweater.

Lighting

The conditions in March in Iceland are usually overcast, so lighting was always very even, easy on setting exposure.

Equipment

Canon 5DIII with 24-105mm lens, hand held.

Inspiration

The Icelandic horses are so unique and beautiful, set in a magical landscape.

Editing

Lightroom Classic to add a little contrast, crop, and minimal sharpening. Not much needed on this photo.

In my camera bag

Canon 5DIII, lenses 25-105, 16-35, 100-400, 70-200mm. ND Grad filters, polarizer, tripod, and lately, my Mavic 2 Pro.

Feedback

For animal shots, always get eye level, it add the personal connection to them.
