Location
I took this photo off a pier in Lavalette NJ.Time
Sunset, it was around 7:00.Lighting
I noticed how the setting sun was putting the seagull in silhouette, so I lined up the shot so that the seagull was backlit by the lightEquipment
I only used my Nikon cameraInspiration
I noticed the placement of the seagull and sun together and the idea to combine them just sort of came to me. I crouched down to get the perfect angle and there it was.Editing
No, I didn’t really need to process this image. I brought up the saturation and contrast a bit but that was all. It was just a naturally beautiful scene. In my camera bag
I usually only have my three lenses and my camera. Sometimes so bring along a mini tripod.Feedback
Always pay attention to all aspects of your surroundings. Every detail counts, and sometimes the best images are unplanned or thought of last minute.
