What a wonderful capture and post edit. Brilliant tones and the 70-200 f/2.8 is an amazing lens.

Location
I took this photo in a remote flower field tucked away on a side road that leads to my daughter's school. I hadn't seen many wild flower fields in the Charleston area, so we jumped at the chance when I passed this everyday for drop off!Time
This image was taken around 7:30pm. We had been shooting in various locations since noon, including a plantation, downtown, and finally at this flower field. I am so thankful timing worked out and we got here right at golden hour. I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather this day.Lighting
You can't really beat golden hour, right? The gold tones just make this image feel so warm. I wanted to utilize that with backlighting, but also ensuring she had enough light on her face. No reflector or lighting was used, just natural light.Equipment
This was shot was a Canon 6D and a 70-200 2.8. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
We had a marathon day of shooting while another photographer friend, Shelby Robinson, was in town visiting. We had various wardrobe changes and location changes. This flower field felt very peaceful and serene (besides the bees, of course, which did stop us from shooting a few times.) I wanted to capture the feeling of peace.Editing
I did enhance this photo in Photoshop with some hue adjustments, adding to the golden tone. I also used Curves quite a bit for light manipulation to really bring out the contouring in her face and add extra depth. I enjoy post-processing and love playing with the tools to see what can be created! In my camera bag
I have a fairly small gear selection in my backpack. I have my Canon 6D body, 70-200 2.8, and 24-20 2.8. I have an expo disc that I forget to use regularly. Just last week, I did invest in the Canon 135 2.0L and I'm loving it! This may surpass my previous favorite 70-200. That one was an old model and losing it's sharpness.Feedback
With photography, lighting is everything. If you don't have good lighting, the most beautiful model, location, and equipment won't do anything for you. Always think outside the box and look for new locations. I am hoping these wild flowers come back next year and I have a chance to shoot again. There is a lot of construction in the area so I'm afraid it will look very different. Also, don't be afraid of Photoshop. It's such a great tool to enhance your images. While I do try to get my images right in camera, I couldn't create the fine art look without knowing the tools in PS.
