This is an image of Harbor Island, taken from the West Seattle side of Elliot Bay.Time
I took the photograph at about 11pmLighting
The lighting was naturalEquipment
I took the photo with a 85 mm Zeiss Loxia lens, on a Sony a7r2. I employed a tripod. It was a 1/1 sec exposure, taken @ f/4.5Inspiration
I've long enjoyed looking at the lights of Harbor Island and reflections they cast. It was a perfect night, with very little wind, the conditons were perfect.Editing
I use an Aurora HDR product. In my camera bag
I use a Sony a7r2, and depending what I'm doing what I carry will vary. Normally, I carry an ultra wide 10 mm f/5.6 Voightlander and a 21 mm f/2.8 Zeiss Loxia; I use a 40 mm f/1.2 Voightlander as my primary lens.Feedback
You need to be in the right place at the right time, with the necessary gear to take the shot.
