I have photographed this barn several times but never got close enough to get this angle. Absolutely beautiful!

Location
This is the old barn located between Ellensburg, WA and Blewett Pass on Hwy 97. It is a great focal point. Most people only get shots from the road as this is private property, but we had special permission on this occasion to shoot all night up close on the property. The sunset was great and so was the northern lights that night.Time
This image from this shoot was taken at twilight after the sun had just set. The clouds lit up with great color and and nice warm glow. They then cleared in time for the aurora storm that happened that night.Lighting
There was no special lighting used other than the sun and mother nature for this shot.Equipment
I shot using my D600 on my tripod using my Rokinon 14mm. Settings were: ISO 200, f 7.1, 1/200th of second exposure.Inspiration
I was scouting the location for my later night shots with the aurora. I loved the way the clouds were moving as the sun set for this image and the way the fence lead to the barn. Later in the night I ended up moving for my aurora shot though.Editing
I used Lightroom for this image post process, slight increase in whites and clarity and small amount on vibrance. In my camera bag
Oh my I have a lot of gear in my bag. You just never know what you will come across and want to photography. The main items are: Nikon D600, Nikon 50mm, Tamron 150-600mm, Rokinon 14mm, Tokina 11-16mm, Minolta 58mm with nikon adapter (completely manual), head lamps for light painting, extra batteries for my camera, wireless intervalometer remote, step up adapter rings for filters, ND Grad Filters square, 10 ND filter, polarizer filters, lens cleaning clothes (Lots), 90 degree eyepiece attachment, Vixen Polarie Star Tracker and mount.Feedback
Wait.... don't leave just after the sun goes down. Wait just a bit longer or you might miss something gorgeous!
