Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my living room.

Time

This was taken in the evening. The kids were in a great mood which made it perfect time to photograph them.

Lighting

I used tinfoil to help reflect the light I was using back into their face to make the moment more magical.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D3200 with a 50 mm lens on a tripod.

Inspiration

I really wanted to make a family keepsake photo. I had seen some other takes on type of photo and thought this would a great to try. I loved the results and to date this is still one of my favorite photos of my kids!

Editing

I just did some basic lightroom edits with highlight and shadow control. I wanted to make sure we were drawn into their faces.

In my camera bag

Currently I have the Nikon D750 with a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 with me all the time. This combo has to be my favorite.

Feedback

Make sure the kids are happy and have everything set up. At the youngest age they loose focus really fast and you are lucky to have five minutes of co operation before they are onto the next thing.
