Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture last january on my last trip to Iceland. This picture was taken stokksnes area, a small promontory, you can see this beautiful mountain Vestrahorn with the black sand dunes in front.

Time

In winter (January) the sun rises at 11 o'clock (a.m.) and sets at 3.30 o'clock (p.m.). This picture was taken short after sunrise on a beautiful morning!

Lighting

Natural light is the best you can get in an landscape picture. So the rising sun did lighten the scene!

Equipment

I used a Canon 5DS R with the great lens 11-24, F4.0. Tripod is a Feisol.

Inspiration

There are so many amazing pictures from this area. But there is no image that looks like another. I hoped to get some good shoots from there and was lucky because the weather forecast was really good for this morning. And I was not disappointed.

Editing

Of course I did some post-processing on this picture. I used Lightroom to set the correct colour temperature, clarity, tcontrast and sharping the picture, too.

In my camera bag

My camera, different lenses (wide angel to tele) a tripod, filters and a backup body.

Feedback

The only thing is to be at the right time at the right place and you have to know how to use your camera.
