Location
This photo was taken in October 2013 in Civita di Bagnoregio in Italy.Time
We had to drive here from where we were staying, so did not arrive until around noon. That may have been a blessing though as it seems most of the tourists were elsewhere having lunch.Lighting
It was fairly overcast which helped saturate the colors of the vegetation and the browns of the rocks and buildings. The clouds also allowed the city to stand out against the grey sky.Equipment
Sony SLT-A77V handheld with an old Minolta 35-70mm f4 at 50mm. 1/200 at f7.1 ISO 100Inspiration
This was my first trip to Tuscany, but my wife had been there numerous times and knew where all of the good places were. I was in photography heaven and couldn't stop taking photos. This was one of my favorites from the trip although there were many.Editing
Very little post processing on this photo in Lightroom. One trick I sometime use is to turn the highlights way down which punches up the contrast. In my camera bag
I have been shooting Minolta (now Sony) since the mid 80's. I currently use an ILCA-99M2 and almost always have my 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM II zoom attached to it since I do a lot of wildlife. I also have a Tamron 16-300mm f3.5-6.3 Diii Zoom that I use as my travel lens which gives me a lot of options without a lot of weight.Feedback
This photo is nothing anyone else couldn't take if you pay attention to the edges of your frame, get the exposure correct and are in the right place at the right time. "f8 and be there" is personified by this photo.
