Location
This was taken in Venice from the Pont de l'Academie down the Grand canal towards the Basillca di Santa on a very early morning sunriseTime
this was a very early morning sunriseLighting
this was my first real experience of of early morning and night time photography using long exposure. I was on a photographic weeks holiday with a group of other photographers, and a professional mentor. The light is there for such a short time the outcome of the shots change every few minutes.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D610 with a 24-70 F2.8 lens on a tripodInspiration
the lights reflecting in the grand Canal and the sun raise against the fantastic backdrop of VeniceEditing
I did a small amount of post processing and a slight cropIn my camera bag
depends on what I am going to shot, I now have a Nikon D750, and my usual lens is my Nikon 24-70 F2.8. If I am going sports photography motor sport or horses at the polo, I take my Nikon F2.8 70-200 and my Nikon 70-300Feedback
Its all about the light and being in the right place when that happens for sun rise or sun set, learn all about your camera settings and use them to get the colours and exposure you want. Do your home work on timings as the light can be right for a short period
