Location
Moraine Lake, AlbertaTime
Just after dawnLighting
Although this is a beautiful spot anytime of the day, I like to get on top of the rock pile before dawn to watch the sunlight make its way down the mountains and reflecting on the lake while the water is still glassy.Equipment
Nikon D600 with a Nikon 16-35mm lenseInspiration
This is one of the most iconic locations in the Canadian Rockies but the light is different every day and in every season. I'll keep going back here for years just to watch the changing light.Editing
No.In my camera bag
A tripod, a polarizer and a small flashlight with a red filter to help maintain my vision in the dark.Feedback
As soon as the air starts to warm, mountain lakes loose that stillness needed for good reflections. This stillness only lasts a few minutes so be set up before first light.
