Beautiful shot of a feline. I love cats. You are the first person I've left a message to. I just joined and trying to learn how to take proper photos. Right now I'm so self indulged that I am embarrassed by it. I'm turning 60 this year. I'd like someone to critique my photos and tell me what I do wrong. I will start using my camera. Thanks for the picture..........bob

Thank you Boby. I love cats as well (your is a lion). Playing with my cat, at home, after a heavy day's work, it is very very relaxing. It's an anti-stress therapy. But in this case, however, the subject of the pic is not my cat, but a tramp in the street. Which obviously, as a good cat, he has not perceived hostility but friendship of the photographer

Excellent shot, great composition, and DOF. This is an intriguing capture with a sense of mystery about it.

nice in the street shoot of a cat, often here in UK this type of shoot wont be taken as cats kept indoors a lot now, because of violence towards them, sad but true.good interesting photo.Graham

Location
This pic was taken in the main street of San Vito Lo Capo (a village in the North West Sicily). In november San Vito Lo Capo is a lovely fisherman village. Few people, few tourist.Time
The image was taken perhaps about 22:00Lighting
No flash, thanks to f/2 and ISO1250. The background light in the street is yellow. The main white light on the cat comes from the window of a shop. Manual focus mode. Raw modeEquipment
The camera is the FUJI FINEPIX X100 first series. An amazing camera especially in very low light conditions. No tripod.Inspiration
This vagabond wild cat was very friendly. The cat came to me and I lowered quikly my camera almost on the ground, so that it was at the same height of his eyes. Everything happened in a few seconds.Editing
Few adjustment (curves, levels, white and black point, contrast) thanks to the raw modeIn my camera bag
Actually I use my inseparable finepix X100, a Fuji Waterproof, a Lumix GX1 and a Lumix GX8, with 7 different lenses.Feedback
Don't use heavy equipment!
