Location
Outside of Breckenridge, Colorado. The photo was taken about 3 hours into the hike at a waterfall that I had never seen before.Time
It just before golden hour, but in the mountains that is a very quick period of time and the light disappears fast so you have to be quick.Lighting
The lighting was phenomenal. I go crazy when I see light that I love especially when I have my camera with me. My friend and I were hiking and exploring while creating pictures. The sun was starting to set, in the mountains that means a very slim chance for a great shot that requires good lighting. It had started to rain, while the sun was still shining creating the orbs you see in the photograph. The light shined through the trees and lit the waterfall and my friend up. I started snapping photos, this was one of the favorites from that day.Equipment
At the time I was using a nikon D7000 and a 50mm prime.Inspiration
The amazing lighting, the time exploring the woods with a good friend, and the fact that I love everything about photography!Editing
Just some minor adjustments in Lightroom. Played around with exposure and some colors. In my camera bag
My travel bag has my Nikon D610 , 50mm prime, 85mm prime, 24mm prime for landscapes and a 70-300 VR that I use for surfing and Landscape shots. Lately my everyday lense has been my 70-300 for the versatility is has and I shoot a lot of surfing so I keep this lens close.Feedback
Just shoot all the time, no matter what shoot. Practice and practice some more. I look for moments of incredible light, those moments are completely unplanned and can happen at any moment. You have to know your camera in order to make the proper adjustments when the light is perfect, even if only for a quick second.
