This is fantastic. Having tried BIF photos many times, I can really appreciated the difficulty factore here. Can you tell the story of this capture? Is it a captive bird?

Location
The Picture was taken at a place called Aviemore, Scotland in the UK. After doing some research I decided this would be the best place to get a chance of getting that picture I had set in my mind. There are other places in Scotland that are known to have Ospreys visiting for the fish, but with less chance of photographing them at close quarters like Aviemore.Time
It was late July 2015 at approximately 5-30 in the morning. This is a good time of day to watch for the Osprey fishing and this time of the year you are likely to see one or two young Ospreys learning there diving skills.Lighting
The light was poor due to the time of day and the fact that it was overcast. This made things very challenging as the Osprey's dives are very fast. To give me the best chance of getting the shot I wanted. I had the lens set at a wide aperture and the iso turned up so I could obtain the fastest shutter speed possible also to help with the shutter speed I underexposed slightly knowing I could adjust the exposure later in Photoshop.Equipment
I was useing a Canon 7D MK11 with Canon 300mm 2.8 Lens and a bean bagInspiration
I'm very much into bird phtogrophy. The sheer ability of the Osprey to catch its prey is awesome and to catch this spectacular event on camera was on my wish list. Such a wonderful experience.Editing
I use photoshop to do any processing I use mainly photoshop raw as I always shoot in raw. For this shot I turned up the exposure slightly, reduced the noise by useing the luminance, and colour settings. Finally I did some cropping of the picture to give the photo more impact. In my camera bag
I have in my bag my canon 7D MK11, + 70D, Canon 300mm 2.8, Canon 1.4 converter + 2x converter and Sigma 105mm macro lens. I always carry spare batteries and SD cards. Most of my shots are hand held or with a bean bag. But I always have a tripod in the boot of my car.Feedback
As a relatively new comer to bird photography my advise to anyone interested in capturing shots of Osprey's fishing or any bird pictures is to do as much homework on the species you are wishing to photograph. Go to nature reserves talk with fellow enthusiast more often than not they are only to willing to share information with you. Pointing you in the right places and giving you tips etc. Don't be frightened to ask there is a Wealth of information out there.
