Wonderful capture, all the colors together remind me of a Maxfield Parrish painting.

Location
This photo is taken is a small beach in New Zealand, Larkings Landing, Beach Haven Auckland. This is an abandoned boat mostly kept for the kids to play with and hang around ... This was just a random outing to this place at overcast dusk condition and was excited to see a subject of interest. Glad to capture a set of different angles of the boat.Time
This is one of my favorite shot from the day and with the weather conditions showed very little promise, i was thrilled to see how the colors of dusk blended with the clouds forming a awesome moment. The memories are still fresh and was pleased to be present at the right time to capture this shot. This was a attempt around the dusk, sunset hour.Lighting
The conditions were not ideal to photograph an object due to the thick blanket of the clouds. However, I was positive enough to capture the dull mood and an attempt was supported by the changing colors at the late of the evening. I am thankful to the mother nature to open up the clouds to make a perfect ideal dusk condition. I didn't bring in my tripod so i was shooting with a fast shutter speed around 1/80th sec and aperture f10. I somehow missed that the long exposure shot would have been ideal with the fading colors, but still i am happy with the attempt.Equipment
I used the Camera: Canon EOS 6D and my multipurpose Lens EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM at Focal Length 35.0 mm. I used a Polarization filter to cut down the uneven reflection of sunlight. No Tripod and flash is used as the light was sufficient to get a perfect exposed shot.Inspiration
I was often intrigued with the shots of random objects in a beach, like a old ship wreck, boat etc, it was good to find one such object on a very sparsely populated beach. This is not much of my style of photography and so this was my first attempt. I would have liked to capture a bit more wider frame with the motion of the clouds but i didn't carry my tripod, so i have had to settle down concentrate on the lonely object and try out different angles. This particular one came out as my best as i got the descent reflection in a puddle of water and the clouds formation added more to the perspective.Editing
I did work on the post processing to bring in the definite contrast to my image which was a bit lacking in the shot. The fast shutter shot didn't give me the opportunity to capture the vibrant colors of the dusk, and have to work a bit to bring in the same to match what i witnessed at that very moment. This is also a composition of two shots a vertical pano attempt merged in Photoshop CS6.In my camera bag
I have some must to carry gears and some nice to have gears. The must to carry gears have added over the years and now a days the list stands as, Camera body off-course, EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Samyang 14mm F2.8 lens, a set of 77mm Polarization, ND8, ND1000 filters, shutter release, extra memory card, extra battery pack and yes a small set of cleaning kit, like the Blower, and some clean wipes. I also carry a led torch and some clean cloth which comes handy at night shoots. I also pack my tripod as a must to carry gear. Nice to have gears include Canon 1.4mm 50mm lens, Tamron 70 - 200 mm F2.8 lens and few more filters.Feedback
I am a landscape photographer and so in these years i have learnt that patience is the key. Sometimes the situation/condition may not seen ideal but still its never disappointing to venture and spent some time with the lens, believe me wonders happen at unexpected moments. The golden hour moments are a precious time and the most productive time for a photographer but it is always good to plan couple of hours before the sunrise and sunset to capture the transition colors. This image is not a typical landscape image but the rules are the same. In this case i tried to get some different composition not as per the rule book - rule of third and so sometimes its not bad to be a bit more adventurous. Good luck guys.
