Behind The Lens

Location

Skies above Bora Bora. I was tethered to a helicopter with open doors (not to obstruct views) to get this shot

Time

This was shot around 1:30 PM local time

Lighting

It had just rained for a day and a half and the rain had just stopped. So, the sky wasn't completely clear as is evident from the clouds

Equipment

Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 lens - taken at f/7.1 and 1/320 Shutter speed and ISO 64

Inspiration

Just the sheer beauty of the area and the diversity of water color over such a small region. The only way to see the whole perspective is from above and that's why I kept following up with the helicopter company to make sure they were able to arrange this tour for me even though they were on an assignment in another island

Editing

Jut basic work in Lightroom to add contrast and vibrancy since I shoot in RAW

Nikon D810 or D5, 24-70, 14-24 and 70-200 f/2.8 plus 80-400 f/4.5-5.6

Feedback

Plan ahead. Book the helicopter tour in advance and keep confirming multiple times. Try and schedule it in April-June for the best weather.
