This photo was taken at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Reserve in Belize.Time
We arrive at Cockscomb Basin around 9 am and started are trek up the mountiain. We arrived at the top, where this photo was taken, around 11 am. Spent a few minutes enjoying the view, and then moved on to continue our journey.Lighting
It was a fairly sunny day with large white clouds floating slowly throught he sky. On our way back though, we were stuck in a rain storm.Equipment
Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 28-105mm 3.5-4.5Inspiration
I photographed the entire trip while in Belize. Once we arrived at the top of this ridge, I loved the mix of dead (burnt) trees and new growth popping up and all around the ridge. It was beautiful, but also eary at the same time.Editing
for this photo, I used Photomatix to create a HDR imagine. Thought that the original was a very nice image, but deciding to make it an HDR image really brought out more detail and colors. In my camera bag
Nikon D7100, Nikon D7000, 28-107mm lens, 80mm macro, Tokina 11-16mm, 70-200mm 2.8Feedback
I like to look around at the view and area before I start shooting. I like to take it all in; one, if you don't you will only remember what you are seeing through your lens and two, you may notice something that you would have missed if you just started shhoting. I may be old school, but I like ot make sure I have my images framed up and exposed properly. I do not use Photoshop unless I truely have to. Which is not very often. Do you editing and exposing and composing before taking the picture, not after.
