Location
This photo was taken in my back yard, we had three dogs at the time and our sons dog was over as well. They were all playing, and Isaac being the elder statesman, was prancing around with the prized wood.Time
This was taken mid to late afternoon, so the lighting was great. Isaac had some health issues so I was really trying to get some good photos showing his personality. The light was perfect that day.Lighting
I was hoping to get a nice shot with the lighting and the bokeh in the background to really make the photo pop!Equipment
This was taken with the Nikon D7200 with a 24-70mm Nikon lens, ISO at 4000, F3.2 and shutter at 1/800Inspiration
Isaac had not been doing well, he had turned 10 in the spring, but had a few different health issues and we were worried that he may not have much time left. So I really wanted to try and photograph him as much as possible and really capture his personality. He passed away shortly after taking this photo, so I am so happy to have gotten some great captures of him.Editing
I do not do much post-processing of the photos, I learned photography on film, so I try to get all my photos as perfect as possible while taking the photo. I use Lightroom since I shoot in raw, but I do not do a whole lot to my photos. In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D500 and D7200. I have a Nikon fisheye lens, a Tokina 11-14mm, Nikon 24-70mm and Nikon 70-200mm.Feedback
Be patient and wait for that right moment. I had all four dogs running around playing, but really wanted some nice shots of Isaac by himself, so I had to wait it out. I didn't want to try and tell the dogs to move or try and keep them away, I wanted it to be as natural as possible.
