Location
I take this picture on a riverbank of a channel near Novellara - ItalyTime
I take this shot at the first light of the day. It was a cloudy, foggy and wet day.Lighting
The lighting is natural and the fog do like a big diffuser.Equipment
I used a Nikon D800e with a Nikkor 200mm micro on a small Manfrotto tripod. Exif: 1/30s, f/16, ISO320Inspiration
I really like taking macro pictures in nature and I go out very often at sunrise searching for some subjects. Some week ago I found a riverbank with a lot of mushrooms and little snails. I spent 3 hours watching and taking picture of them. This is one of the most interesting moments.Editing
Of course I post-processed the image to give it a dreamy look. I opened the shadows and I increase the light in the back of the snails. I also did a little crop of the image and I raised the clarity about a 20%.In my camera bag
My bag is really heavy when I decide to go out for macro pictures. I bring with me all macro lenses and bellows. From 20mm to 200mm. My preferred lenses are Nikkor 60mm micro D and Nikkor 200mm micro D. I have also with me extension tubes and three tripods of three different sizes.Feedback
I think patience is the most important thing. Then it comes the light and the good moment. Find good composition and soft lights. I always take picture without the direct sunlight.
