I love this! Getting in close is a great choice for this subject,it lets us really see the folds and character of this one!

This is a far better portrait - see the catch lights in his eyes? My only criticism is the distracting object in the right background. I'd burn it in, clone it out or blur it.

I love all the grooves and wrinkles in this dog's face. I've been inspired to paint this photo or draw it or something. I think it would be a pretty good charcoal or pastel chalk drawing.

This dog is a piece of art - a living design and you have captured it perfectly. Almost abstract - quite graphic. Love it!

He looks like he’s watching his pup in the midst of doing something completely wrong like he got into something he shouldn’t of and made a complete mess..

I give this one The Hooch Forever Award. You know, Turner and Hooch? Closeup brings out all the feature of the Mastif.

If you crop this photo just enough to remove the light coloured band across the top it will have more impact. I love the shot though, great expression.

Love the texture on this. If you turn it to black & white, the textures would probably stand out more too!

Such a face. Jim I love your perception of the world around you. Some shots are just so simple yet they cause you to look at the finer detail. Btw, you wouldn’t happen to be from NZ by chance.

He looks like he's saying "come on, where's my real dinner?" Lots of character. And the esthetics if the photo make me think of a beautifully drawn pet portrait.
