Location
The photo was taken on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne off the northeast coast of EnglandTime
The photo was taken at noon on the 1st of October 2014. There were relatively few tourists around so I had time to take a number of shots from various angles.Lighting
The weather was relatively mild and overcast with occasional breaks allowing the sun thought. The overcast sky helped persuade me to take capture the scene in black and white.Equipment
The scene was shot with a Nikon D7100 and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X lens.Inspiration
The sheds are wonderful objects with great textures. The rope and anchor in the foreground add interest to the scene.Editing
I used Camera Raw Filter in Photoshop to adjust exposure and contrast. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D7100, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF-D, two spare batteries and Lee Big Stopper kit.Feedback
There are so many different angles to capture the scene from, focusing on the angles which include additional elements relating to the main subject area is important. A dry overcast day is great for avoiding harsh over exposure and cuts down reliance of filters.
