Location
San Francisco, CATime
While visiting San Franscio there are some benefits of not being able to sleep well when traveling from the east coast. Around 1AM I took my equipment for a walk hoping to take advantage and practice some long exposure photography.Lighting
All natural evening city lights.....Equipment
Canon 5D MkIII, 24-105mm L, tripod, shutter release triggerInspiration
The view of the the bridge, the city lights and the old pilings in the foreground were picturesque and iconic of San Francisco.Editing
RAW photo adjusted in LR, Clarity, black level and noise reductionIn my camera bag
The base make up of my camera bag starts with a Canon 5D Mark III, 50 mm 1.4, speed light, and usually a 70 to 200 mm L. The addition of other lenses and camera bodies are usually dependent on location and basis for that day shooting with the mono pod or tripod.Feedback
The willingness to try different variations of photography techniques is always a plus. Pushing oneself to be more creative also has some distinct advantages. In this particular case not been able to sleep paid off with a very memorable picture of San Francisco. Flash and sunlight are not always required in order to take a great picture.
