We all have dreams, things that we want for ourselves and for our future. I personally have been blessed enough to have a job that I have a true passion for. It can sometimes be easy to get lost in what we think we have to do because its what our family-friends expect or its what they are doing. However, thats not always true. "Find your passion and you will never work a day in your life.", my mother once told me that and it is so very true. I have been to the point of giving up, I have been humbled, I have grown and all this has happened during my journey learning photography. So for those of you that think that you need-have to give up, I say don't. Don't give up on your dreams, it might not always be easy or fun, but in the end its totally worth it.

Love the dramatic pose of the girl and the sense of movement her hair provides!

Location
I took this photo at a public park here in Norfolk, VA.Time
It was in the evening around 5 pm.Lighting
It was all natural lighting.Equipment
I used my Nikon D610 with my 24mm-85mm lens attached. I also used a chair for the model to sit on.Inspiration
I am inspired a lot of different things but this image was inspired by a dream that I had. I dreamt that I was floating and there were bubbles with images inside them. The images played like movies when I popped the bubbles.Editing
This is a composite image of three photos. I took a blank background image so I would have a base image. I took an image with my model sitting in a chair posed, and had an assistant flare her outfit. Then I took an image of my model flipping her hair. I then combined the images in CS6. First I opened my background image, then my image of the model in the chair. I used the lasso tool to select the model and moved her to my background image. I used a layer mask to refine my selection. I then took the image of the model flipping her hair and used the same steps as above to combine it with my other images. I used a brush to create the bubbles and the purple smoke. I then did my normal tonal editing. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D610, my 24mm-85mm and 70mm-200mm lenses, a reflector and my SB 700 speed light.Feedback
The advice I have for anyone trying to do something similar is that you want it to appear realistic. So be mindful of how your posing your model and how the wardrobe would naturally flow. Also shadowing, make sure your that you put the correct shadow for your model. Learn how to use layer masking, it will help you out so much doing levitation images.
