This photo was taken at Oak Openings, a metropark close to where I grew up.Time
This photo was taken later in the afternoon. I had finished classes that day and needed a bit of photo inspiration, so I went to the park immediately after my last class.Lighting
Natural lighting is like your mother - sometimes it can be a real hassle to deal with it, but when all is good, it's your best friend in the world. (No offense to your mother or mine)Equipment
This was shot with my good ol' D60 and the standard lens.Inspiration
I always struggle with autumn because it symbolizes the winter months looming in the distance. Those of you in the Sunshine state may not empathize with me, but understand that I have lived in Northwest Ohio my entire life. Winter and photography have yet to create a pleasant mixture in my portfolio. Anyhow, it was a rough day of finals and assignments, so I took my two best friends to the park - my camera and my dog Bandit. Though I had to *patiently* wait for a few park patrons to cross the bridge, I would say this shot was worth the wait.Editing
Warmed it up a tadIn my camera bag
These days I've got my D5100, 18-55, 70-300, and a macro. I also keep some macro filters in my bag for when a manual focus is too difficult to use.Feedback
Create where you want the eyes to lead. For this particular shot, I had to work with the crop to create a pleasurable focal point for the viewer.
