Location
I took this photo in the Shadyside on a typical cloudy winter Pittsburgh day.Time
Right around midday, as I got off the bus on my way to work. Luckily I had my camera on me as I didn't usually bring it to work.Lighting
The way the light hit the snow illuminated the church in a way I had never seen before. Demanded a photo to be taken.Equipment
Shot with my (now deceased) Nikon N65 with Fujufilm Neopan 400 film.Inspiration
The old brick architecture of this church was astonishing; a stark contrast to the new hospital buildings that surround it.Editing
Not very much! Just some small adjustments of shadows and contrast in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I like to focus on shooting with a single system at a time. When I took this I was shooting with the Nikon N65 with its dinky kit lens, perfect for pulling off quick street shots. Now I've moved to shooting mainly with a Hasselblad 500 C/M with a 150mm lens, shooting more portraits and stills.Feedback
Always have a camera on you and don't be afraid to look like a fool stopping for 10 minutes on the street to get a good shot.
