This was an evening shoot.Lighting
I used a 300watt soft box to light Monika and a 60watt spot light bounced off the ceiling to illuminate the scene.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless camera with a 24-105mm f/4.1 Prime Lens. A Godox VL300 watt LED with a PR-90 Softbox was used as the key light and a Godox 60 watt LED for back lighting. I stood on a ladder and shot Monika from above the upright piano.Inspiration
The model, Monika Marciniak was a musician in her native country of Poland before immigrating to the United States where she now works as a bioengineer and part time model. The Piano was symbolic of her talent.Editing
Ironically the camera I used had just been returned from focus repair. Unbeknownst to me the image settings had been returned to factory default. The image was shot in jpeg, which I would never do intentionally for a studio shoot. When I discovered this blunder after the shoot was over I almost cried. I used Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to enhance and retouch the image. In my camera bag
Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless, Canon 7D DSLR. GOPRO III. 1.33mm RF anamorphic lens. 70mm zoom lens, 24-105mm f4.1 lens and a 24-70mm f2.8.Feedback
Lighting is the key to all photography. A well lit scene can make a world of difference. Also always check your image settings before starting a shoot. This will save you hours of editing.
