This is a photo of the Whaleback Light taken from Fort Foster in Kittery, Maine.Time
Anyone who looks at my photographs, knows that a favorite part of the day for me, is the late afternoon. I love long shadows and colorful sky of Sunsets and afterglows. This one is also in the same cathegory. Very windy spring day, is actually pretty cold in the State of Maine, but a view from Kittery towards New Hampshire's Portsmouth is always stunning. You can see two lighthouses and remains of Fort Foster. It also a big plus, if you can also see huge waves hitting one of the lights.Lighting
The colors of the sky can change entire photograph. Use it to your advantage!Equipment
Canon RP is my choice for a travel camera. I used my Canon RF 24-240 lens. This time it was no tripod, just hand held photo. Yes, it's hard to believe that now I prefer mirrorless camera. I still have my DSLR Canon cameras, but it is absolutely refreshing to see in the viewfinder (most visible in the manual mode) actual photograph. Just by turning a dial you can correct under or overexposure and there is no guessing about depth of field, you just see it while taking a shot. Now if you combine it with a full size sensor, RF lenses, and possibility of using my old lenses with an adaptor, it became my favorite.Inspiration
It is a hard question to answer, everything around us is an inspiration, and everything can be photographed in a creative way. Sometimes you just have to look at it from a different point of view and it becomes an art. Many times, like in this instance, you can not control an event or weather, and if you see great clouds or beautiful waves, there is no time to think, because next time it may not be there.Editing
In this photograph, only minimal post-processing was required. Besides cropping I had to correct the lighthouse's exposure, it was too dark in the shade. I did not touch the sky, since it was pretty foggy on the horizon, so I kept it this way.In my camera bag
In my bag, I have a lot, or I have a little. I love travel photography and if you are going for a very long hike or a climb, it will be a little. One camera, two lenses, and a flash. You can not also forget about a smartphone. In the manual mode, with 108 megapixels, you can do some pretty good captures. Currently, I use Samsung S-22 Ultra.Feedback
The best advice for everyone is to take many photos. With digital cameras, it's very easy to delete unwanted photographs, so use it to your advantage!!! I started many years ago, with Kodachrome and Agfachrome, and it was expensive, plus you had to wait to see what you just captured until they were developed. Agonizing wait and you could not waste too many shots with 36 pictures available per roll. Now it's so much easier. Keep on shooting!!!
