Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken while we were on holidays in Lightning Ridge,

Time

It was mid morning, very sunny and quite a warm day, the sun was behind me.

Lighting

I wanted the photo to show that even the oldest of things are never forgotten.

Equipment

Just my 600d Canon camera and kit lens. The area was surrounded by high fences so I used the fence to rest my arm on so my hand didn't shake and aimed my lens between tje gaps to get the photo.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo as its an old opal mining area, open mines are all around, this being the biggest there. I'd probably never get back that anytime soon so wanted to make the most of every shot i took.

Editing

I added some slight HDR- scapes to bring out the colours of the car and surrounding vegetation and to enhance the sky.

In my camera bag

I carry everything with me. From my nifty fity lens to my large 300mm, external flash and receives, other bits of accessories. I never want to miss an opportunity having it all with me on hand when I need.

Feedback

Find the best position, and think outside the box to get that perfect shot.
