Location
This picture was taken in a off-grid cabin, in Walden, Colorado. The cabin was inspired by the architecture of Yurts. The renter of this cabin, built it by hand as a passion project. The cabin had no electricity, besides a very tiny solar battery that powered a lightbulb for the dark nights. I rented this cabin for my 30th birthday, and to enjoy nature and photography. The picture is the crafted ceiling with the skylight.Time
I still remember it, like it was yesterday. I just woke up, it was 8am, and a very cold morning -23 Fahrenheit. I was shivering, waiting for the fire heated stove to warm up, because the fire went out during the night. I was laying on the ground, staring at the ceiling, admiring the craftsmanship.Lighting
It is all natural lightning. I took this picture, because they sun created this beautiful warm tone. The sun illuminated the wood, creating peaceful feeling.Equipment
I wish I could say, that I used very expensive equipment, and that I manipulate my surroundings to my liking, but the truth is, I used my iPhone11.Inspiration
The inspiration came from the craftsmanship of the immaculate constructed round ceiling. I was amazed by the geometry, and how the sun bounced off the natural wood. I felt that the artistic craftsmanship, deserved to be the focus of the picture. The sun only highlighted the features.Editing
This picture is in raw form. I did not apply any filters, or made adjustments to the quality. The only post-processing I have done, was cropping the picture. In my camera bag
The only equipment I use at the moment, is my iPhone11. I do a lot of nature shots, when I am adventuring. I do like to own a professional camera in the future, but at the moment my finances do not allow it.Feedback
My only tip, is take a lot of pictures of your subject, in different positions. Try each angle, and focus on small detail.
