Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Yosemite Valley during an intermitent rainstorm.

Time

This image was captured during the early afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting was courtesy of Mother Nature. With a cloud cover and the sun ocassionally peeking out from behind the storm clouds, my lighting contained both drama and diffusion.

Equipment

This image was shot with my Canon 5D Mk III using my go-to 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens.

Inspiration

The pose of the formally attired bride and groom juxtaposed against the backdrop of Yosemite called out to me to capture the moment.

Editing

The image was batched and brought into Lightroom for global adjustments...from there it progressed through Photoshop CC for detailed post-processing with my post-processing concluding with color enhancement and effects introduced into the image using a Luminar 4 plug-in.

In my camera bag

Generally I carry to photo shoots my Canon 5D Mk III accompanied with a Canon lens inventory consisting of: 24-70 f/2.8, 85mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4, and a 35mm f/2.0.

Feedback

Always be looking for and assessing the light before you...and when you find that light, let it become one of your strongest creative tools to capture the image of your subject.
