Location
This photo was taken in Aarburg, Switzerland. I go there very often, because it is a challenge for me to take the best possible photo in different weather conditions and seasonsTime
I took the photo in the evening. The photo was a big coincidence as I had no intention to take photos that day. I wanted to attend my son's hockey game in Aarburg and because I couldn’t enter the hockey hall with the dog, I went for a walk. It was created on October 13, 2019 at 7:08 PMLighting
I started shooting at golden hours and continued into blue hours. The reflections were excellent as the street lights lit up. I really wanted to take a magical photo in that romantic atmosphere.Equipment
Sony a7II, Sony FE 24-105 F4 G OSS, Hoya ND 1000, Manfroto tripodInspiration
I was very impressed with this photo and I immediately got a vision of what the finished product should look like. I was inspired by the magic of this place (castle, Aare river, boats…) especially in the evening. I think I was in the right place at the right time.Editing
First, I edited the image in Lightroom, continued in Photoshop (swapping the sky, dodge and burn, luminosity mask) and completed the photo in Luminar 3. I really like using Luminar for the orton effect and sharpening the photo. In my camera bag
In my bag is a Sony a7RIII, for me the best camera. Of the lenses I use Sony FE 24-105 F4 G OSS, Sony FE 70-200mm f / 4 G OSS and Samyang AF 14mm F2.8, Sony E-Mount. Also included in the bag are various Hoya filters, extra batteries, a Manfroto tripod, etc ...Feedback
Usually the unexpected situations/moments bring good photos as it was in my case. It is always necessary to have your photographic equipment with you, including tripods and filters. When I take photos that include rivers, lakes, etc., I often make long exposures, using different filters.
