Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my farm in Alberta

Time

I was out doing chores in the afternoon and decided to take my camera with me that day

Lighting

It was a peaceful overcast day, everything just seemed content in the world. Trying to capture that is always a goal of mine.

Equipment

Canon 30D 75-300mm lens

Inspiration

My animals always inspire me. I Iove being outside when the weather is calm before or after a storm. The light dusting of snow is relaxing and everything seems at ease.

Editing

No post-processing

My camera Canon 30D (yes, I am ready for an upgrade!) and a small towel in case of wet weather

Feedback

Animals are my 'go to' subject. I love capturing the personalities and spirits. The best way I find is to spend time with them. I always photograph by myself so I don't have the extra hands of someone to help with set up or trying to get animals to pose. When they know you are just there to spend time with them they relax and give you what you need to shoot.
