Location
This photograph was taken on a workshop that focused on macro photography and taking the images of fieldmice.Time
The shot was taken in a rustic room and I was able to take my own props along...flowers, teasels, bamboo. The photographer also supplied some materials.Lighting
Two lights set up, backdrop, flash trigger.Equipment
Canon 6D Mk2. 100 mm Macro lens. shot at f/16. SS 1/160 sec ISO 100Inspiration
I really want to improve my photography skills and look for different opportunities to attend a range of workshops. The mice were quick and I had to be fast on the shutter! Handheld and always trying to get the focus on the eye of the field mouse! The star of the show was the mouse and the way it wrapped it's tail around the teasel stalk.Editing
I shoot in RAW so will have gone through my workflow, starting with ticking the chromatic aberration and lens profiling. Crop. Moving on to setting the whites and blacks, adjusting highlights and shadows, Add a touch of contrast, clarity and 10% vibrance. Export to Photoshop to clone any minor blemishes. In my camera bag
now moved up to canon 5D Mk 4 - I LOVE this camera body! Macro lens, 24 - 105mm lens, 70 - 300 mm lensFeedback
Keep your focus point on the mouse's eye. Be quick on the shutter! Anticipate where the mouse may go....
