Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the back of the bride's dads old pickup truck on the homestead where they got married. It was really important to this bride that she get some photos taken with this truck

Time

This photo was taken on our way back to the barn to join the rest of the guests for dinner. This old truck doesn't run and was parked off the laneway so we popped over to it to get some photos with it. We likely only spend about 5 minutes doing photos here but these photos were SO country, like this couple and the rest of their wedding!

Lighting

This photo used only natural light, no flashes or other lighting as it was taken mid day. It was slightly overcast that day, not from cloud cover but from forest fires nearby

Equipment

I shot this with my Nikon D750 and my Tamron G2 24-70 2.8 lens. No other equipment was used making this image

Inspiration

This wedding was just so relaxed and I loved that they brought their country living lifestyle to it. I loved their boots and thought that it was an important part of their day to capture! It's all in the details!

Editing

The only post processing done to this photo was to take out the colour saturation and make in monochromatic. I felt that nothing else really needed to be done to it, it was already a great picture

In my camera bag

I always carry a lens pen and blower so I never get stuck with a fluff or dust spot where I don't want it. I LOVE my Nikon D750 and my Sigma ART 35mm 1.4 is never far away. I also love the versatility of my Nikkor 105mm as it is wonderful at both portraits and macro photography!

Feedback

A wedding is all about capturing the memories and details of the day that they may one day not remember. Often times people don't know what they will love until they see it on the screen or printed out for them!
