Location
In Namibia's Etosha National Park.Time
Taken early afternoon. When the heat of the day is highest, all the predators are keeping cool under a tree somewhere. This allows some of the prey animals to eat some greenery.Lighting
The lighting was an issue here, because the background was a wall of green, so trying to get the positioning to make use of available light was key for this photo.Equipment
Camera body was a Canon 1200d. Lens was a Sigma 150-600.Inspiration
When on safari in Africa, taking photos of any wildlife is inspiring. Throughout the day there will be opportunity to see predators and prey animals.Editing
The post processing was simply to convert to black and white, adjusting a bit of contrast and highlights/shadows on a basic pre-installed computer software. In my camera bag
Normally I carry a total of 3 batteries and 3 or 4 memory cards totalling about 300gb. In terms of lenses I usually carry 3. A 50mm, 75-300mm and the lens used for this capture a 150-600mm. A small tripod completes my equipment list.Feedback
Patience is always key with wildlife photography. Understand animal behaviour. When is the best time of day to see them. Where to expect to find them.
