Location
The photo was taken on a secluded path enclosed with trees on the subjects farmland. They told me about the place and we decided to wait until dusk to take the photo.Time
It was late evening just before sunset. The lane runs east to west, so it made the lighting perfect.Lighting
I originally used a speedlite along with the single backlighting. I decided I wanted more of a silhouette, so I removed the speedlite. The image turned out just how I had imagined.Equipment
This image was shot with a Canon 7D and a Tamron 28-75mm lens.Inspiration
The male subject wanted to propose and I wanted the shot to show the warmth and love the two had for one another.Editing
I did very little post processing. I enhanced the vibrancy of the sun and a small crop. Mostly all of the image was straight out of camera. In my camera bag
I usually carry two speedlites, two umbrellas, a softbox, colored gels, Canon 7D, Canon 40D, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, Canon 50mm f1.8, and Canon 55-250mm f/3.5-5.6.Feedback
Find the location that you want to shoot and be patient. We waited for the sun to be at the perfect location to capture the rim light and the warmth of the sun. Also, be prepared because the lighting from the sun changes so quickly.
