Location
At a river mouth near our farm. The Gamtoos River Mouth.Time
This was late afternoon. Probably around golden hour.Lighting
Well the sun was low and I was getting great golden hour lighting.Equipment
This photo was taken by my iPhone 4. Just shows how you don't need an expensive camera to take interesting photos.Inspiration
The lines between sand and sky were so pronounced in this cosmic landscape, I needed to take a photo and somehow interrupt it for the exact purpose of strengthening it. We had the chair with us and so it became the perfect subject. And to add to that... the desolation of the area we were in was just so overwhelming, we felt alone and small. The empty chair which we had with us just encapsulated the feel of the area. It spoke of something which was lost, a chair without a sitter.Editing
Just a few slight edits, like adding a bit of grain and general exposure/color tweaking. In my camera bag
Anything. Anything which stands out as being interesting. Like a chair. Not that I had a chair in my camera bag but instead of carrying the usual things every second photographer carries in their bags... why not carry things no one would expect. I always do carry a few extra batteries with me. A must have. And a few extra lenses. But let me remind you. This photo was taken with my phone. No camera. No camera bag.Feedback
Take photos which you enjoy taking. Take photos which make you happy. Don't copy me. Don't copy anyone. Just take photos which make you tingle on the inside. Those are the ones worth taking and worth sharing. And always explore. Exploring leads to an adventure, and no matter what photos you take, an adventure is always worth while. Thank you.
