Behind The Lens
Location
I took this at Blue Lake, near Washington Pass on the North Cascades Highway, State Route 20 in Washington State.Time
This scene was captured on October 9, 2017, around 12:45 PM.Lighting
The day before had seen season snow and the clouds were breaking up. The sunlight was filtering through high thin clouds, giving the rocks and the lake metallic tints that contrasted with the Golden Larch needles.Equipment
I had left my FujiFilm X-T1at home, not expecting this on a casual weekend outing, and got this shot with my iPhone 6.Inspiration
The larches and the lighting were too magical to miss trying to capture the spell.Editing
I made very slight adjustments in the brilliance, contrast and shadows. In my camera bag
I have a FujiFilm X-T1 body, an 18-135mm telephoto lens and a Fujinon XF-35 lens.Feedback
One has to hike into the wild and do it in less than optimal conditions to get shots like this.
