The fireworks provided plenty of great lighting. I love shooting fireworks.Equipment
Canon 5D MKIII with a 16-35 2.8L II lens sitting on a Manfotto Carbon Fiber tripod.Inspiration
4th of July. A group gets together every year at this spot, which is a great place to view the show.Editing
This is a composite of around 15 images. I layered them in Photoshop and made adjustments in contrast and brilliance using Color Efex Pro.In my camera bag
All Canon, all the time. I carry a lot of gear. Canon 5D MKIII, 16-35 2.8L II, 24-70 2.8L II, 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 70-200 2.8L, 580EXII, and various other accessories, along with my Manfotto tripod.Feedback
Practice shooting fireworks when you can. Get your exposure time down and you'll get some great results. Oh, and use Live View, a tripod, and shutter release.
