Behind The Lens

Location

Lake McDonald in Glacier NP.

Time

Sunrise on a very windy September.

Lighting

It was pretty dark and the sun had just started hitting the mountains across the lake.

Equipment

5Dmark III, 16-35L wide angle

Inspiration

The cloud cover and the sun just hitting the peaks With the sky not completely covered with clouds I knew I could get movement in the clouds with a longer exposure.

Editing

Started with LR and Photoshop, then used different NIK software techniques for the look I was after. Also used clone painting in photoshop

In my camera bag

Nothing out of the ordinary, a long lens of 100-400, a 24-105 and my wide angle. Various ND filters, lens cleaner, flashlight, knife, extra batteries, rain cover, etc.

Feedback

Wear rain gear or have extra cloths because you have to lay on your stomach in rocks and wet mud. Patience is good also.
