Location
This photo was taken near my house after a heavy downpour. It was my first time shooting some lightning and hoped to catch may be some of those amazing, long, scary strands that seem to dangerously illuminate the night sky intermittently for short bursts, but to my dismay, those clouds were covering most parts of the horizon. It was still a productive night for this amateur photographer still because I was able to capture this magnificent view.Time
This photo was taken early one evening between 7 and 8 pm.Lighting
Lightning is one of nature's most dangerous occurences, however, it also is one of the most beautiful thing that naturally happens that we can readily observe. Capturing it is really tricky and requires patience... lots of it.Equipment
This photo was taken with my canon 700D on a tripod. The lens was an 18-55 kitlens.Inspiration
I have always wanted to get a perfect shot of lightnings and all its splendour. I think this is a good start.Editing
Post-processing this photo was done with Lightroom with some adjustments done with the basics such as brightness and saturation. In my camera bag
Well, I only do photography as a hobby so for now I only have my faithful 700D and its 18-55 kitlens. So, basically that is all I carry with me when I feel like going on a photo shoot. The whole unit is very light and handy which makes it ideal for outdoor activities wherein I am required to participate in, such as running or camping. I also carry with me a tripod.Feedback
As someone who is still in the process of learning anything and everything about photography, all I can share is that timing, and flexibility with it, is really crucial because sometimes, what seems to be the most boring moment to shoot something can become, surprisingly, the best time something really interesting occurs. And those moments are the ones that we do not want to miss. Pay attention to the surroundings and be patient.
