Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken after discovering a little secret path in my neighborhood. Now it's my favorite place to take pictures.

Time

It was taken around 5:00 pm, right after I got home from school. I remember having a really stressful day so I did what I always do to relax. I grabbed my camera and went on an adventure.

Lighting

Since it was taken in late fall, sunset is about 5:00 pm in New York and I couldn't pass up a beautiful sunset.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon Rebel xti 400D, no tripod or other equipment.

Inspiration

I was taking a photography course at school and I had an assignment due the next week. Our assignment was to capture some beautiful autumn colors.

Editing

No, I haven't done any post-processing to the photo.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Canon Rebel xti 400D because it's my absolute favorite and is really easy to use for someone as inexperienced as I am. I try to carry my tripod with me as well just in case. But I try to travel as light as possible, I never know where I'm going to end up.

Feedback

Lighting is everything, sunset and sunrise will produce the best photos. But it's also about perspective, I was lying on the ground to take that photo. I try to never take photos at eye-level, I like taking photos from perspectives that people don't normally see it from.
