Location
I have recently moved to a small farming community and rented a cottage on a wheat farm for a short while. During this time the farmworkers were busy preparing the land and planting. The place is called Porterville in the western cape province of South Africa. The farm is called groen vlei (meaning green marsh)Time
Sunset, my favourite time to shoot.Lighting
The golden light at sunset in this part of the country are naturally spectacular for some reason. no other place in South Africa where I have lived and worked comes close.Equipment
A entry level Nikon d3100 with two lenses 300mmInspiration
the setting sun and the dust kicked up by the tractor and the implement combined gave the ambient light an amazingly beautiful colour, it was fleeting and I managed to capture a few before the colour started to change again to a different hue. The man working on the implement was in such a position that I could capture him with the setting sun and the dust.Editing
I do play a bit in light room but on this one I think I did not fiddle to much as the colours was incredible to start with in the first place. In my camera bag

Sunsets and playing with your settings in the exposure department.....the more you shoot the better you will get. With silhouettes always try to capture a recognizable subject and shoot it from all angels, somewhere along the line one angle will just be a cut above the rest.
