I've only recently started trying to get more serious with my bird photos. Getting a good image of birds must be like photographing children- constantly moving and ready to move on before you've gotten that perfect shot. This is a red-bellied woodpecker that visited my backyard today.

The stunning clarity of colour, detail, exposure, and just the fact that this woodpecker has it's head tilted like this is almost poetic visually. Add to that the beautiful Bokeh and I am in awe. The fabulous luminance of colour, especially in that glorious red 'cap' is colour like I've not seen that often in images. You should be very proud of the skills that you have acquired to date. For me these are Gallery Quality Images. This one would lend itself well to be printed. The Medium?? probably all, but the depth of colour would look fantastic on metal. Do you mind me asking if you are using one of the Canon EF 400mm Super Telephoto Lenses??? The Glass and Camera combo is resulting in Fabulous images - not to mention your Processing skills. You have an excellent eye for composition and this shot is a testament to that. Congrats on such a fine capture!
