A superb high contrast image that reveals details in shadows and highlights the magic of youth.
It is beautiful and speaks of the inspiration, passion and creativity contained within our younger selves.
I have tried light painting myself, in casting a wide beam over a large subject such as a building. The pinpoint accuracy of your lighting brings the subject forward and out of the black oblivion they formally rest in. What might have been a dreary scene is now a work of art.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring future photos of my own.
Cheers,
-Forrest

Location
I took this photo at my school when I was introducing light painting to my middle school photography club students.Time
4pmLighting
We went in search of the darkest area we could find on a bright afternoon and the best option available was back stage in the auditorium. The only ambient light was the red exit sight in the back corner. I used a blue LED light that was part of one of my sons toys to outline the piano and one of my students.Equipment
This was taken on a old Canon T2i with the 18-55mm kit lens on an old video camera tripod I had lying around!Inspiration
It just happened... One of my students sat down on the piano bench while I was setting up and I told her to hold still!Editing
Minimal post processing was done. A little saturation and some noise reduction to take out some hot pixels that were sticking out in the dark areas. In my camera bag
I carry 2 or 3 bodies (Canon 6D and 80D) and 4 lenses all the time... A wide angle 14mm, a 24-70mm, a 70-200mm zoom and a 150-600mm. A few extra batteries and a few SD cards and I'm good to go!Feedback
My advise is to move fast and remember your sight lines to the camera - don't get between the two and make sure you keep the light in the cameras line of sight as you transition to the back edges. Try to keep your light source moving at all times as you trace the edges of your chosen object.
