Location
This was taken in my home studio in New Braunfels, Texas.Time
Morning. I like to start my days off with taking pictures.Lighting
For the lighting I used a Flashpoint Streaklight in a Wescott softbox set just in front and left of center above the spoon.Equipment
Taken with a Canon 7d Mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro, Flashpoint Streeklight, Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto ball head.Inspiration
I got the idea from an article I read on photographing curved reflective surfaces. While looking around the house for something that would be interesting I noticed the reflection in my wife's tea spoon, that was it. I knew I needed something interesting to reflect so I went to the local Hobby Lobby and picked up some scrap booking paper. The rest is what you see in the image.Editing
Yes, I brightened the shadows, increased contrast and raised the saturation using Lightroom. The editing was very minimal. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L USM, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, LeeFilters numeral density filter, circular polarizer, Manfrotto 190 tripod, Manfrotto PROX ball head,Canon remote shutter release, LowePro camera backpack. The list keeps growing and changing though.Feedback
Think outside the box, get inspired by others and get out there. You will never get 100% of the images you don't take, so stop thinking and start doing. Being involved with sites like Viewbug has really helped expand my perception, creativity, and given me some moviation from looking at the work of others on the site.
