This photo was shot in March in the high mountain in south of Norway.Time
This was shot in the afternoon with a low sun (this is the month of March in Norway) almost breaking in the clouds.Lighting
The sole reason for taking this picture was the special light that were there for a few seconds when the sun was almost breaking through the clouds. the light created a very nice tone on the snow and the mountains.Equipment
This was actually shot with an old compact camera: Nikon CoolPix E4300. I only had this small camera with me because I was skiing. No tripod and no flash was used.Inspiration
The special light that was there for just a few seconds was amazing, and when I saw the two skiers that were heading into the mountains I just had to get the camera and press the button. I was hoping that I could manage to catch what my eyes was seeing.Editing
Not much post-processing done here. Just added more contrast because the original picture came out a bit flat from the camera. Then I sharpened it a bit using Photoshop Sharpening Tool.In my camera bag
Normally when I go out shooting I bring my Nikon D5100 and a tripod - that's all. If I don't have it with me, I use my Cellphone or a compact camera. Light, creativity and composition are the main things after all.Feedback
There's nothing like capturing that special light. Sometimes you have to be patient and sit and wait for it, sometimes it will only be there for a few seconds. always have a camera at hand, even if it is your cellphone.
